a life in light

My fascination with fireworks began when I was twelve years old. What started as fear quickly turned into an obsession with how color, timing, music, and movement could transform the sky into something emotional. I was never interested in fireworks simply because they were loud or bright, in fact, that was my initial fear; I was fascinated by the way a perfectly timed moment could make thousands of people feel the same thing at once.

That fascination eventually became a career in live entertainment. Over more than a decade with Disney, I worked across large-scale entertainment production, special effects, technical documentation, procurement, operations, and show development. At EPCOT, my work included supporting nighttime spectaculars, laser systems, atmospheric effects, pyrotechnic operations, and the complex infrastructure required to bring ambitious creative ideas safely and consistently to life. I had the opportunity to contribute to multiple nighttime spectaculars and to work alongside some of the most talented designers, technicians, engineers, and producers in the industry.

Those years shaped the way I design today. Disney taught me that spectacle is never just about scale—it is about intention. Every cue has a purpose. Every transition matters. Every second of darkness is as important as the light that follows it.

Embers & Dash is where that experience meets the passion that started when I was twelve. Here, I approach pyrotechnic design as both art and engineering: composing color, movement, rhythm, and space with the same care given to music or architecture. The goal is never simply to fill the sky.

It is to create a moment people remember.
